Myoko Kogen Ski Fields:

Myoko Kogen has 5 separate on-mountain resorts: Suginohara, Ikenotaira, Akakura Onsen, Akakura Kanko and the infamous Seki Onsen. The local resorts are in separate towns due to the complex mountain topography with exception Akakura Kanko/Onsen resorts. Wherever your Myoko real estate investment is located, all of the above resorts are easily accessed by private car or taxi/transfer service and bus. The public transport is not as efficient or comfortable as major cities and is an area we would like to see improved in the next few years. There are  9 resorts and  a large number of culturally significant attractions within a day trip including shrines, temples, snow monkeys, breweries, onsen and factory outlet shopping. There is also a cat ski operation, guided backcountry tours.

Myoko Kogen Summer:

Myoko Kogen is lucky to have so many summer tourist attractions many which are accessible by local public transport. Many are located adjacent to hiking tracks which lead to volcanic formations, hot springs, plateau’s and waterfalls. Myoko Kogen Government has spent money making these more accessible for foreign tourists in the last few years and we expect the year-round economy to grow due to the steadily rising international tourism numbers. Large visitor Influxes due to the rugby world cup and Olympics will help push the drive to explore the less explored.

Is Myoko Viable?

There is no doubt that Myoko is in middle of a second boom and there is hot competition for certain areas especially those close to the snow fields. Myoko has  infrastructure that works year round and is close enough to Tokyo for foreign internationals to make the trip during spring, summer and fall. Although many buildings have aged, the natural beauty that used to bring Japanese tourists in droves has not changed at all. It truly is a special place with the biggest potential that we have seen.
